Security Systems Technician
Established in 1911, McElheney Security Solutions is the local leader in residential and commercial security solutions. We are currently hiring a skilled and dependable Security Systems Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot electronic security systems in the field. This includes access control, CCTV systems, automatic doors, and related low-voltage components.
This is a hands-on role that requires solid mechanical skills, a working know;edge of electronics, and the ability to work independently in the field while maintaining a high level of customer service. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

We are currently hiring a skilled and dependable Security Systems Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot electronic security systems in the field. This includes access control, CCTV systems, automatic doors, and related low-voltage components.
This is a hands-on role that requires solid mechanical skills, a working know;edge of electronics, and the ability to work independently in the field while maintaining a high level of customer service. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Install and service electronic security systems, including:
- Access control systems (keypads, card readers, electric strikes/mag locks)
- CCTV cameras and recording systems (IP and analog)
- Automatic and handicap-accessible doors
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low voltage electrical systems and devices
- Perform wiring, terminations, and basic programming of devices'
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manuals
- Work independently in commercial, residential, and industrial settings
- Maintain tools, parts, and inventory in work vehicle
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members
- Ensure all work meets applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Experience with network setup and IP configuration for CCTV or access systems (preferred)
- Basic programming knowledge (security panels, DVR/NVR's, access control software)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with low-voltage electronics
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Ability to schematics and technical documentation
- Ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical labor as needed
- Must be able to pass drug test, criminal background check, and have a clean driving record
